Day 410

March 18, 2006

Brian is back to working on the windows in the garage.  Daniel is still getting more baseboard molding painted so we can have the carpenter back to spend a day installing.

Day 409

March 17, 2006

The carpenter is doing a great job since he is having to create a Frankenstein's monster from various pieces of doors since the replacement jams that were imported to replaced the damaged ones are the wrong size.  But the doors are installed in the upper rotunda.

Brian has installed the hardware on the new doors while Daniel is cleaning up the construction debris.  The doors look great in place but it was a lot of hassle to get to this point.  Next time... American made doors.

Day 408

March 16, 2006

Finally some visible progress.  The new doors are up in the downstairs rotunda.  Thanks to finish carpenter we hired to get the job done the doors are looking great.  The glass inserts that we want will not be available until April.  In the meantime, we have something to slam.

Brian keeps chugging along on the windows.  Daniel is painting up more baseboard molding.

Good news:  We auditioned a carpenter who will be installing the interior doors that were ordered from Spain.

Day 403

Day 404

March, 2006

There is not even anything to see worth posting a picture.  Brian is doing such detailed work with tiny brushes and fine sandpaper.  The windows are great when finished, but there is a lot of time waiting for paint to dry and we can't take too many windows out of the frame at a time in case it might rain.

Day 397

Day 398

Day 399

Day 400

Day 401

Day 402

February, 2006

I don't remember whose brilliant idea it was to have 76 windows in the house and garage, but this is a pain in the ass.  Unfortunately, we have run into some "issues" with some of the windows and it is taking much longer than we ever expected.  Brian is doing an incredible job with all the detail work that is required for all these damn windows. The house is almost complete, and Brian has moved to the garage to start on the windows there.

Dan is still prepping the rough openings for interior doors.
