Watch our progress while we build |
Construction Day 180 October 28 The crew is focusing on installing the bullnose trim and edge trim. They are also working on finishing the hanging stage of drywall in the garage. This picture shows the first floor rotunda and where the hole in the ceiling will be located. |
The view from the second floor hallway. |
The second floor of the garage is finished with the hanging.
Construction Day 179 October 27 A smaller crew is working on completing the drywall hanging.
Yes, that is Brian up on the ladder inside the oculus showing the crew how he wants the drywall installed. Of course, Brian knows better then the guys that do this everyday. It came out pretty good, anyway.
Construction Day 178 October 24 Drywall is still going up. The rotunda upstairs is really taking shape. Also, we are having the rear exterior door switched from in-swing to out-swing. |
Construction Day 177 October 22 The drywall crew did not show up today, so we are working on the construction of the second floor deck.
Construction Day 176 October 21 The spray-in insulation crew has returned to fill some of the interior walls for soundproofing. |
Construction Day 175 October 20 |
Drywall installation continues in the house and garage. Critical walls have to be up in the house today since the spray-in insulation crew will be back tomorrow to add soundproofing to some interior walls. |
Construction Day 174 October 16 More drywall is going up in the house.
The room looks really different with the drywall up. |
The crew has also started putting up drywall in the garage. |
Construction Day 173 October 15 The drywall installation continues. The second floor ceiling is complete, and the first floor ceiling is going up. The kitchen has walls. It is very different from how we have become accustomed to the rooms looking.
Construction Day 172 October 14 The installation of the drywall has begun!! We also, this morning, added a tub liner pad to the second floor laundry room to protect the house in case of a laundry accident. |
The ceiling boards go up first. A moment of suspense as ceiling board is put up covering the skylight |
Brian helps out as the skylight is revealed. |

Construction Day 171 October 11 Brian has finished running the last of the in-wall wiring. We have also completed any detail framing that needed to be finished before drywall could begin. There is not much to do as we wait for the drywall and insulation crews to show up. Maybe Dan can get motivated enough to work on painting some of the exterior. |
