The Dream is almost a reality.

Watch our progress while we build

Construction

Day 340

June 12, 2005

Brian has installed the bi-fold doors for the linen closet, and he continues with building window frames.  Daniel is applying the PVA coat to the new wall in the staircase so it can be painted.

Construction

Day 339

June 5, 2005

Brian is plugging along with the window frames and Daniel has finally completed sealing the grout in the tub surround.

Construction

Day 338

June 2, 2005

Brian is continuing with fabricating the interior trim for the windows.  There are 76 windows by the way.

Daniel is working on prepping the floor in the multi-purpose room so it is ready for carpet.

Day 337

June 01, 2005

The hot tub company has returned to install the cover and place the tub.  The extra hands sure made a difference in getting the tub into place.

We continue to work on a multitude of small projects that continue to get us closer to completion.

Day 336

May 22, 2005

There is a lot of time spent watering the new sod.  In between, Brian is still working on the interior window frames and Daniel is still sealing grout.

Construction

Day 335

May 18, 2005

We have finished with this delivery of sod and now must try and find a company that can deliver more as the season for this type of sod is ending.

The grading behind the house is almost complete, and we had just enough sod to run an edge of grass around the back of the house.  Now, we just have to keep it watered in this hot weather.

Day 334

May 17, 2005

Our delivery of ten pallets of Palmetto St. Augustine sod arrived.  We are working to spread it over the septic tank and drain field first.

Fortunately, Kevin came over to help throw the sod, and we were able to get most of it done in one day.

Construction

Day 333

May 16, 2005

We are still grading and working to get the slope right behind the house.  Thanks to Jeff's help we finished much faster than we expected.

Also, the survey crew returned to confirm the height of the drain field as required by the County since we are considered to be in a flood zone (of course, they don't count how high we have raised the house.

Construction

Day 332

May 15, 2005

We are working to finish the critical grading around the house in preparation for the sod to be delivered on the 17th.

We have to cover the septic mound with sod in order to pass the final inspection.

Brian is also installing more of the in-ground gutters around the perimeter of the house.

Construction

Day 331

May 12, 2005

The septic company finally came back to finish the grading, move the dirt that they did not need, and remove two truckloads of sand that were not needed.

Daniel is still working on the tedious process of sealing the grout in the hot tub room.
