Watch our progress while we build |
Construction Day 190 November 11 While we are sweeping up inside, a new stucco crew is putting up lathe on the underside of the front "wings" in preparation of applying a coat of stucco there. This could have been done before when the exterior stucco was being installed, but had different plans for this area that have now changed. |
Construction Day 189 November 6 Lots of activity as the seam crew prepares to hand over the job to the skim coat crew. The unused drywall has been pick up and most of the site cleaned up of scrap drywall. The skim coat is being sprayed onto the drywall and then "knocked down" to make the final texture. |
This shows the texture that we selected. The crew worked until 9pm to finish both the house & garage. |
Construction Day 188 November 5 Another day, another coat of mud on the seams and corners. Pace yourselves, Amigos, wouldn't want to finish this job before Cinco De Mayo. |
Construction Day 187 November 4 The crew is finishing their work in the garage. The taping and mudding of the drywall seams should be completed today. Tomorrow a new crew arrives to put the skim coat on the drywall.
Scaffolding is being set up in front of the house to put a stucco coat on the underside of the porch roof. We had been trying to decide what to do with this area and settled on having stucco applied instead of a bead-board ceiling. |
Construction Days 185 & 186 November 2 & 3 Still more mudding and taping of the drywall. There are a lot of walls. |
Construction Day 184 November 1 More taping and mudding of the drywall seams seems to be the progress for today. |
Construction Days 182 & 183 October 30 & 31 The drywall crew has begun applying the mud to the corners and edges. They are filling in the seams between boards. Brian is continuing to work on the framing for the second floor deck. |
Construction Day 181 October 29 A new crew is starting to apply the tape to the seams on the drywall. |
