February 10, 2005

Tile in the hot tub room is still being installed.

Brian is working on a few projects including building a wood duck nesting box.

Daniel is drawing out the bar plan and ordering the underbar equipment thanks to a special little connection in the foodservice industry.

More tile is going up.  Brian is learning how to tile, and Daniel is cleaning up debris and dust.

The tile guy is back and continuing to work on the wall tile in the hot tub room.

Also, we caught the County Property Appraiser sneaking around peeking in windows.  Apparently the County is anxious to start collecting some taxes on this house, but they can't until we get the Certificate of Occupancy.

February 4, 2005

It's been a while since we've had two trades in at once.  The tile guy made it back to begin on the hot tub room, and the glass crew is here installing the glass enclosure for the master shower and the sliding doors for the hot tub room.

Two steps forward, and one back.  The sliding doors are the reverse of what they are supposed to be so new panels will have to be ordered.

At least the tile seems to be going right.  The tile guy only worked for a couple of hours today, but it's a start.

Another late start and no helper (other than Brian) but tile is going up.  But... apparently, it is just a half day for the tile guy.  At least, the tile is all in place for the shower stall.

We also got approval from the building inspector for the guardrail planned for the 2nd floor.  Now, we just have to find a company that can manufacture it.

The installation of the glass enclosure for the Master shower is scheduled for tomorrow morning.

OK... so tile only gets installed every other day... must be a union thing.

The tile guy is back, again, and the mounting of the tile for the downstairs shower is almost complete.  The tile still has to be grouted, but that is apparently a different person's job.

The layout of the shower makes it very difficult to get a good picture to show the tile work, but here is a drawing of the design to show the pattern.  The red lines mark the corners where the pattern wraps the wall.

January 31, 2005

Better late than never... the tile guy is back and should be finishing the downstairs shower.

We have moved on to prepping the tub surround for the tile installation there.

The glass enclosure for the Master shower and the sliding glass panels for the hot tub room were supposed to be delivered today.

January 30, 2005

We have finished prepping the hot tub room walls for the tile.  We have placed the speaker wires and made the frame for the junction box.

January 28, 2005

After a "no call/no show" yesterday, the tile guy has returned with a "helper."

We are finishing the reapplication of the hot tub room ceiling so it is ready for the tile.

Brian is trimming the concrete backer boards to get the best fit.

The installation of the tile for the downstairs shower continues.

We are also continuing to work on the ceiling base in the hot tub room.
