March 31, 2005

We teamed up to get the glass block installed in the wall of the laundry room.  It will end up as a side light to the entrance to the room.  We used the same glass block that is in the master shower (since we  happened to have just enough blocks left over).

March 30, 2005

Brian is finishing the puttying, sanding, and painting of the hot tub room window.  He is also prepping the wall in the laundry room to accept installation of glass blocks.

In the meantime, Daniel is unwrapping the hot tub to inspect it before it moves into its permanent location.  We have not seen the tub in almost two years.

March 23, 2005

All the tile work is finally complete except for needing to be dusted.  We added a little extra detail into the skylight above the hot tub.

Brian has completed the framing for the wall in the staircase.  We are scheduling the drywall crew to return and finish the new wall.

March 22, 2005

The floor tile is down and ready to be grouted.  Tomorrow all the tile work should be complete.

Brian is almost completed with the framing of the stair dividing wall.

March 21, 2005

The tile guy showed up for 5 minutes, but decided he still needed more materials to start the floor.

In the meantime, Brian is deconstructing and reconstructing the center wall in the staircase.  We are raising it 39" so that we can avoid having to use balusters on the stair railing.

After Brian completes the raising, we will have to have the drywall crew return to mud and tape the new wall.

NOTE 3/17/05:  The tile guy decided that the floor tile we had selected nine months ago and he has been looking at for two months will not work correctly in this application.  So, we will have to find new tile for the floor and return the old tile.

March 15, 2005

The grouting of the walls is complete and it looks great.  We used canvas colored grout to match the tiles.  Tomorrow they will start tiling the floor.

March 14, 2005

The stripe is finally being placed into the hot tub room wall.   This step completes the tile for the walls and now it can be grouted.

The tub surround is being grouted and the hot tub room walls are almost finished.

It is tough to get a good angle for a picture of the tub surround but here is a three frame view to see all the sides.

All the tile is up on the tub surround, and it only needs to be grouted.

While the upstairs sets, the tile guys are back to the hot tub room to work on the wrap around wall.

Work continues on the tub surround, and the tile has almost reached the ceiling.
