Construction Day 107 June 3
The plumbers have finally returned to correct the areas that the inspector failed.
The electrician is finishing the garage and preparing it for inspection.
We are continuing to paint the window frames.
The exterior doors have arrived and are being installed. Brian is installing the locks.

Construction Day 106 June 2
The hot tub has been delivered. We had to take out a few studs to get it into place. Now, we just have to have the room built around the tub.
We've started painting the wood trim around the windows. We brought in Adil from New York to help with the painting.
In the downtime, we have been getting quotes on kitchen cabinets, stucco and drywall materials and installation. We are also dealing with on-going problems with the truss company. Never... ever get your trusses from Trussway!!
We also acquired the low-voltage permit so Brian can begin running computer network, phone, and speaker cables. |
|
NOTE 05/27/03 — The Inspector passed both roofs.

The electricians are finishing up running the wires. We went out and purchased most of the light fixtures for inside and out. The electrical rough-in inspection is tomorrow.
The roofers will check their work tomorrow and the final roof inspection will be scheduled for the following day. |

The roofers have returned to complete the shingle installation.
|
|
Construction Day 102 May 16
The electricians are continuing their work. There are a lot of switches and recessed lights.
The electrician is starting to connect the wires into the two electrical circuit boxes in the house.
|
|
By request, here are some interiors photos. It is hard to make out the areas in the photos since you can see right through the walls. At right is a view "through the wall" of the master bath. The shower stall is in the foreground and the toilet beyond in front of the windows. |
|
This is the view in the second floor hallway looking through the rotunda to the window in the bathroom. |
|
Here is a corner of the first floor rotunda. You might be able to make out the recessed area that will hold built-in shelves. |
|
This is the room where the hot tub will be. There is a skylight overhead and eventually there will be a sliding glass wall in front of the tub. | |
Construction Day 101 May 15
The roofers are here installing the shingles. |
|
The roofers were here from 6:30 am and kept working until 9 pm. The roof is 90% complete. |
