THE KITCHEN
The large kitchen is a
room where kids can sprawl on the floor and watch TV while a grown-up
cooks dinner or simply collapses into a soft chair. There are 19 feet of
countertop, a pantry and an alcove suitable for a banquette. The
trellised window makes the space feel as if the room were in a garden.
"Side yards are semiprivate," says Graves. "The trellis makes the view
your own."
