Though the sloping eaves of the facade suggest 1-1/2
stories, the house is a full two stories throughout, with 9-to-18-foot
ceilings downstairs and 8-foot up.
The firebox and chimney are exposed, not hidden inside the walls as in many homes. Over time, the chimney, sheathed in copper, will take on a soft gray-green patina. A floor-to-ceiling column of windows on the garage side of the house lights the stairway.
